IDEAL was honored to be awarded the prestigious project by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Government of Iraq. The project, known as the Funding Facility for Immediate Stabilization (FFIS), was established in June 2015 with the primary objective of rapidly implementing activities to stabilize recently liberated areas of Iraq. The FFIS supports four sets of activities through dedicated windows, each addressing critical needs identified by local authorities based on consultations and priorities at the local level.
Our role in this project revolved around Window Three, which focused on capacity support for local governments to enhance their immediate response capacity during stabilization. In collaboration with the Kirkuk directorates, we provided technical training in two sets. The first set encompassed Government Accounting Systems aimed at equipping participants with the skills to handle government accounting tasks, including settlement and adjustment of accounts, preparing financial statements, implementing controls, and understanding financial information in accordance with international standards. The second set involved specialized training in Statistics and Statistical Reporting designed to introduce participants to the basic concepts of statistics and its significance in research, covering topics such as descriptive and inferential statistics, data collection methods, and the utilization of SPSS for data analysis, enabling them to generate scientific reports effectively.
